Ritual has become a much more interesting group activity in Path of Exile 2 since Patch 0.5.5. The introduction of individual Tribute changes how party members interact with Ritual encounters, especially when everyone is looking for different POE 2 Items. Instead of one shared pool deciding who gets what, every player now builds and spends their own Tribute.

For players who regularly run maps with friends, this system removes one of the most annoying parts of group farming. You no longer have to watch another player purchase something from the same reward window you wanted. At the same time, party members still need to understand how the system treats the host and guests, particularly when hunting for valuable POE 2 Items or pushing Ritual-related progression.

How Individual Tribute Works

During a Ritual encounter, monsters killed inside the runed circles contribute to each player's personal Tribute pool. The important part is that these pools are completely independent.

If one player spends a large amount of Tribute on a reward, the other members do not lose anything. Everyone can make their own decisions based on what appears in their personal Favours window.

This creates a much cleaner group experience. A player who wants to spend immediately can do so, while another player can save Tribute for a more expensive reward. There is no need for the party to negotiate every purchase.

The system also gives groups a reason to clear Ritual encounters efficiently. Faster clearing means more monsters defeated inside the relevant areas, which can improve the amount of Tribute generated during the run.

Personalized Favours Change Group Loot

Each party member receives an individual selection of rewards when opening the Favours interface. This is one of the biggest differences between the new system and a traditional shared loot setup.

In practice, every player can look at their own options and decide what makes sense for their character. One person might find a useful Unique, while another receives an Omen or currency that fits their current goals.

This reduces competition and makes Ritual much more comfortable for friends who have different builds. You do not need to rush to claim a reward simply because another party member might take it.

However, individual rewards do not mean every player receives exactly the same level of control.

The Difference Between Hosts and Guests

The instance owner still has an important advantage. Players who join someone else's Ritual encounter can have fewer reward choices and more restrictions on shop rerolls.

This is the main trade-off behind the party system. Group play provides faster clearing and shared map efficiency, but guest players sacrifice some of the flexibility they would have while running their own instance.

For casual groups, this may not be a major concern. If everyone is simply running maps together, the faster clear speed can easily outweigh the reduced control.

For players who are optimizing Ritual farming, however, the distinction becomes much more important.

Why Host Rotation Helps

The easiest solution is to rotate the instance owner.

Instead of having one player create every Ritual map, party members can take turns hosting. This gives each player opportunities to enjoy the stronger reward control associated with being the instance owner.

A simple rotation also helps prevent one person from receiving all the benefits of the group's optimized Ritual setup.

For example, a four-player group could change hosts every few maps. The exact rotation does not matter as much as keeping it consistent. Everyone gets time as the host while still benefiting from the group's faster clearing.

Build Around Map Clearing

Ritual farming is closely connected to monster density. More monsters inside the encounter generally means more opportunities to generate Tribute.

Because of this, a dedicated group can consider putting the strongest Ritual-focused Atlas investment on the player who is hosting the map. Nodes such as Prayer and Pledge, Royal Lenience, and Reborn in Shadow can support a Ritual-focused strategy.

The benefit is not limited to the host. Since every party member generates their own Tribute from the encounter, improving the overall monster density can help the entire group build personal pools.

This makes Atlas specialization a group decision rather than something that only matters to one player.

Managing Tribute for Progression

Not every group should immediately spend all of its Tribute on Favours. Some Tribute can be saved for progression connected to the King of the Mists.

If the party is working toward the Right of the Nameless storyline and related endgame encounters, the group should decide whether immediate rewards or progression is the priority.

This is where communication becomes useful. Players do not need to share their Tribute, but they should understand what the current host is trying to accomplish.

Making Party Ritual More Efficient

A good party Ritual routine does not need to be complicated. Rotate hosts, focus on clearing the encounter efficiently, and let every player manage their own Tribute. The host should also have the most suitable Ritual Atlas setup when the group is specifically farming these encounters.

Most importantly, players should remember that group Ritual is no longer based around fighting over one reward pool. The system is designed around independent progression, with the main restriction falling on players who are not hosting.

For groups that want to turn their efficient map clears into a reliable currency routine, understanding the new system is more useful than simply rushing through every encounter. A coordinated party can use Ritual as a steady source of Path of Exile 2 Orbs while still allowing each player to control their own spending decisions.
